In a world where we’re constantly being told how to be, how to dress, how to act, and how our bodies should look, Shana Minei Spence, MS, RDN, CDN, is a breath of a fresh air. Shana is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist based in New York. She calls herself an “eat anything" dietitian. Shana previously worked in the fashion industry and felt compelled to make a change: to go back to school and become involved in food policy and public health.

I’m a huge fan of Shana’s Instagram, and constantly find myself sharing her posts with those around me. Here are some of my favorite quotes she’s written:

“You don’t have problem areas. You have a body that diet culture wants to profit off of by deeming it a problem.”

“Just another friendly reminder there is more to someone than their body size and it’s okay not to comment on it.”

“Foods should not be an award system. You don’t have to earn anything to eat.”

“Terms to cancel: perfect eating, clean eating, good/bad foods, cheat meals.”

“This is your PSA that one style of eating that works for someone else may not work for you.”

Shana is doing incredible and much needed work in this world. We’re so thrilled that Shana is guest curating on Womaze this week and have no doubt you will love the videos, articles, and quotes she shared!
